Back to the future.

We spent a month in Florida visiting Margaret’s sister and her husband Phil. They are the most gracious of hosts and couldn’t have made our stay any nicer. Not only did they accommodate us but also went out of their way to fit our cat “Boris” into the family too. This is all the more appreciated when you know that Joan is allergic to the beasts. But, according to her, she only had a couple of days when she felt any reaction. And then, of course, there was the issue of Boris and Joan’s dog Joli. That was the real shocker as, after a tenuous introduction, each accepted the other and all went well. The biblical reference of “.. and the lion shall lie down the lamb” comes to mind.

All good things must come to an end though and we are now on the way back to Austin to tie up some loose ends before heading off to the northeast for the summer. As of now, it looks like we’ll be spending the summer somewhere between Philadelphia and Boston. Maybe we’ll throw a dart at a map of that area and see where it lands. Then from that base, we’ll spend the summer and into the early fall getting to know that part of the country as well as possible before heading south somewhere for the winter. That’s right, we have NO intention of spending the winter up there. Snow is nice to look but we’ll limit our viewing of it to watching the blizzard reports on the 6:00 news. In the meantime though, we’re looking forward to an exciting summer.
